اصلاحات | کلی بعد از تحمل یک دوره بیماری طولانی در ٧٤ سالگی در گذشت تا به صدر اخبار جهان بازگردد.

اصلاحات – محمد علی در ژانویه ۱۹۴۲ در لوئیز ویل شهری از ایالت کنتاکی متولد شد.

او از ۱۲ سالگی بوکس آماتور را آغاز کرد و در سال ۱۹۶۴ با ناک اوت کردن سانی لیستون، قهرمان سنگین وزن جهان شد. او در همان سال به دین اسلام گروید و نامش را از کاسیوس کلی به محمد علی تغییر داد.

محمد علی در زمان جنگ آمریکا و ویتنام از خدمت در ارتش آمریکا سر باز زد و به همین خاطر سه سال و نیم از فعالیت بوکس محروم شد که در نهایت دادگاه رای به لغو محرومیت وی داد.

محمد علی یکی از پرافتخارترین و سرشناس ترین بوکسورهای تاریخ جهان و آمریکا به شمار می آید. او سه بار مدال طلای سنگین وزن بوکس جهان را به خود اختصاص داد.

لیلا علی، دختر محمد علی که او نیز در گذشته قهرمان بوکس زنان جهان بود، چند ساعت قبل از مرگ پدرش عکسی از خود به همراه پدر و فرزندش منتشر کرد و نوشت: “من این عکس پدر و دخترم را دوست دارم. از همه محبت‌ها و دعاهایی که برای پدرم می کنید متشکرم. من عشق شما را نسبت به خودمان احساس کردم و آن را ستایش می کنم.”
